BABA KANSHI RAM GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, DADASIBA

Baba Kanshi Ram Government Degree College established on 8th April 2015 under the Hon’ble Governor H.P.’s vide notification EDNA-Kha- 2015/ (1) and started functioning from June 2015. The foundation stone of this college was laid by late Sh. Veerbhadra Singh former Chief Minister, Government of Himachal Pradesh on 28th May 2016. Located in the heart of the historic town of Dada-Siba, adjoining the wetlands of Maharana Pratap Sagar water reservoir of Pong dam. This town is noticeable among famous princely states of Himachal Pradesh like Trigart, Nurpur, Suket, Guler etc. The historic Radha Krishna temple built by Raja Ram Singh in 1830, Dadasiba Fort and scenic landscapes of Maharana Pratap Sagar Lake are the main attractions of this region. This place is remarkably known for Baba Kanshi Ram the renowned freedom fighter from this area who entitled as ‘Syah Posh Jernail’ by Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru for his contribution in Indian freedom struggle. Sarojini Naidu ‘The Nightingale of India’ called him ‘Bulbul-e-Pahar’ for his poetic contribution and melodious patriotic songs in the regional dialect.
